Climate action success

We’re pretty good – but we still got some homework

Sustainability isn’t about flashy promises – it’s about real, measurable progress. So, how did we do in 2024? Some wins made us want to high-five the whole team, while others reminded us that we’ve still got work to do.

More transparency, less choices to you – great!

Worried about the carbon footprint of your packaging? You don’t have to be. We now present CO2 emissions for 93% of our products, making sustainable choices easier than ever.

Smarter travel and fewer emissions – pretty good feeling

By reducing flights and rethinking commuting, we cut mobility-related emissions by 26% in 2024. Feels pretty good.

Renewable energy – small steps, big impact

While our total renewable energy use was modest (2%), we made real progress in Denmark – switching from conventional electricity to 6,018.8 kWh of certified green energy.

The elephant in the room

Or rather, the 143 582-ton CO2 elephant that represents 99,7% of our total emissions. Scope 3 (the emissions from our entire value chain) is where the real challenge lies, and here’s what we’ve found:

  • 66% from purchased goods (95 000 tons CO2e), with plastics and rubber making up 70% of those emissions.
  • 5% from transport and logistics (5 939 tons CO2e), both upstream (2 179 tons) and downstream (3 760 tons).
  • 29% (41 700 tons CO2e) from end-of-life treatment, where plastics and rubber account for 96%.

So, what’s next?

The big takeaway? Material choices matter. Reducing the impact of plastics and rubber is key to cutting emissions – both in production and disposal.

At Boxon, we track it, measure it, and act on it. Some steps are small, some are big – but they all push us toward a more circular, transparent, and responsible future.
